Broadway World announces the cast for my play, Waiting.

Waiting will have its world premiere with Playwrights' Arena on July 24, 2021. Waiting is a shorter, pandemic version of my full-length play, Waiting for Godínez.

The University of Arizona Press interviewed me about adapting my novel, The Book of Want, for the stage.

My Beckett-inspired play Waiting for Godínez is featured in The Road Theatre's 12th Annual Summer Playwrights Festival. My director is Sara Guerrero. I adapted my novel, The Book of Want (2011), into a full-length play which will stream online for free in a virtual reading on June 21, 7:00 p.m. Circle X Theatre Co. will present my play as part of its reading series from its Evolving Playwrights Group. Beckett's Babies interviewed me about playwriting, creating Chicanx characters, becoming a writer without an MFA, and more. The hosts, Sam Collier and Sarah Cho, are accomplished playwrights who met at the Iowa Playwrights Workshop.

My first full-length play, Waiting for Godínez, was selected for the Playwrights' Arena Summer Reading Series in Los Angeles, and was performed on July 5, 2020, via a Zoom reading directed by Dr. Daphnie Sicre.

I was selected for Circle X Theatre's inaugural Evolving Playwrights Group where I will be adapting my 2011 novel The Book of Want for the stage with a planned reading in 2021.

The Book of Want wins first place: On April 21, 2012, at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, my novel, The Book of Want (University of Arizona Press, 2011), was awarded first place in the romantic comedy category of the Latino Books into Movies contest sponsored by Latino Literacy Now and the Latino Book & Family Festival.  The novel will now be considered by producers for potential film treatment.

New anthology: A chapter from The Book of Want is also featured in the anthology, New California Writing 2012 (Heyday Books), edited by Gayle Wattawa with a foreword by book critic, David Kipen.
